"I let the materials and the fire shape the paintings."
The series was inspired by the euphoria of late autumn nature. Nature itself is close to me. I often draw themes from it. Instead of the whole, I like showing just fractions of it.
I have broken with my previous practice. Instead of pure encaustic, I worked with mixed techniques: wax, ink, pigments, and shellack. I used a limited colour palette instead of the usual bright colours. The whole series consists of blues, emerald green, and shades of browns. During the burning of the shellac, exciting and beautiful spontaneous patterns developed.
The ELATION series consists of 12 encaustic mixed media on wood (30x30x1.8 cm).
In my work, the limited controllability of liquid wax, the spread of inks and the burning of shellack create one-time and unrepeatable paintings. This ensures the uniqueness of the painting you own
